Zenith Complete Bonnington Hydro-Electric Power Station Refurbishment

Building Refurbishment & Conservation Project at Bonnington Hydro-Electric Power Station located on the River Clyde in Scotland.

Bonnington hydro-electric power station was constructed in 1926 taking in water from the beautiful ‘Falls of Clyde.’ It is a tall art deco style single-storey, reinforced concrete building with round-headed cathedral windows. It is a category ‘A’ listed building, the highest possible grading, as a site of national architectural importance. It was, therefore, vitally important that any newly installed materials were as close a match as possible to the originals.

Zenith was engaged to undertake extensive civil repairs to the station, both internally and externally, which required a sympathetic approach to maintain its many original features.

The client was so delighted with Zenith’s entire approach to the project that shortly after we were awarded a similar project at the Stonebyres Hydro-Electric Power Station.
